How to Start: Yoga 1 and Yoga 2
Yoga 1 - Beginners
If you are new to Yoga or to the Sivananda method, we suggest that you start with our beginners course - a systematic introduction to the theory and practice of Yoga, emphasizing proper exercise, proper breathing, relaxation and concentration techniques. Register in advance and come for classes with empty stomach and a large towel or a yoga mat.
Course duration: The course consists of 12 classes (90 min. each) on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday over 3 weeks. Weekend courses run for 6 weeks on Saturday and Sunday.
Course donations:
Members Rs 1000, Non-members Rs 1200, including 7 free open classes and a copy of Sivananda Training Manual
NB: Two or more members of same family registering same time (even if for different batches) may avail of Rs 200 discount per head, but not in addition to student discounts.

How to register
Yoga 2 Intermediate
An opportunity to systematically work on improving the basics especially the headstand; also holding postures a little longer with simple variations, and exploring some alternative postures which fit with Swamiji's basic class system.
Course duration: 8 classes (90 min. each) - 4 weeks (Tue & Thur - for 4 weeks)
Course donation: Members Rs 550, Non-members Rs 800
For those attending yoga 2, valid Open class cards will be extended by 8 days.

Meditation Courses
Meditation - Introduction
Learn the theory and practice of meditation. Understand the nature of your mind and how to develop concentration and inner peace. The use of Mantras and the 4 paths of Yoga. Guidance is offered for your personal practice
Course duration: The course consists of 6 classes (90 min. each) over a 3 week period.
Course donation: Members Rs 500 Non-members Rs 800
The textbook Meditation and Mantras by Swami Vishnudevananda is included in the course donation.

Workshops
Introduction to Meditation
A simple introduction to Swamiji's approach to meditation using tratak and mantra for concentration.
Headstand
Those seeking to master the headstand, the King of asanas, will benifit from the headstand workshop. Designed to guide you gently and systematically through the eight steps and to enable longer holding time with minimum effort.
Shat Kriyas
An opportunity to learn the basic techniques of jala neti, sutra neti, kunjar kriya for helping remove toxins and excess mucus from the body. Also practice agni sara and other practices for stimulation of digestive system and other benefits.
Surya Namaskar
An opportunity to learn how to improve your technique, and develop your stamina with a more prolonged practice of this exercise which is essential for flexibility and increasing ones breathing capactiy and vitality.
Positive Thinking
An introduction to Thought Power and the possibility of changing the nature of ones thoughts. Aiming at having a more relaxed and happier outlook on life.
Stress Management
Discover the possibilities of managing physical, mental and emotional stress through a synthesis of yoga.
Yoga and Losing Weight
An exploration of how Swamiji's Five Points of Yoga are relevant to losing weight, keeping it off and simply feeling good about yourself. The class includes practice so come on an empty stomach.
Spine and Flexibility
Make your spine suppler and find a gentle way to move from one posture to another. A combination of shoulderstand, plough, bridge and the fish. Completion of Yoga 1 is required.
